Procrastination

I haven't blogged for a while now, in fact there are several other things I haven't done, finishing my custom munny is one of these I really want to do too.

The reason is the way the iPhone drives procrastination, I have filled it with apps which each take a minute of my time, unfortunately this becomes minute after consecutive minute...

Well Twitter and Bejewelled Blitz 2, I am not forsaking you but I am putting my foot down, I am going to restart doing things with more than 140 characters or that take more than one minute!

Join me! Write your list of long things and get to it!

My personal list;

• Start blogging again
• Finish the Munny
• Write the Zombie comic
• Finish that short story

See, I feel better already, I'm off to tell Twitter about this.

Christmas Presents

I know what one of my Christmas presents is, and it is making me very happy, it means I can start customizing toys, hopefully six months from now I'll be like Huck Gee or Tado and there will be no need for me to go to the office everyday...

Dreams are made of these thoughts...

Top Gear is taking us for granted and is getting tired

Top Gear has been on our screens for a long while, through many incarnations, with and without Jeremy Clarkson. The current run has been a joy to watch and has had enough of those genuine water cooler TV moments that it needs to be watched live and not time shifted.

You'll noticed I used the past tense, and this is because Top Gear is being stretched, it is feeling tired at the moment, I don't know if everyone agrees but for me watching it feels like a habit at the moment.

What has gone wrong?

Top Gear is taking us for granted and is getting tired

There has been at least one set piece in each show which feels too set up.
In the first week it was the destruction of the Dacia Sandero, a lorry driver has obviously been thrown the equivalent of a days pay to drive into a car and it shows, there were other set pieces which tried too hard but this stuck out for me.
This week the electric car rolling down a hill and into a tree, come on guys how dumb do you think we are, how dumb are we supposed to believe you are?

The star in a reasonably priced car, this segment is getting longer and longer, it used to be about the lap, there was some interview but it was short and comically ignored all opportunities to plug things to get onto the lap. Perhaps Jeremy is hungry for more chat show time, maybe he has forgotten how this has gone for him before?

The audience interaction has become an opportunity to insult people who have probably waited months for tickets and wish they had been on when Jay Kay was in the studio? The studio team have fallen back on the old trick of getting pretty girls to stand behind where ever people are presenting and keeping the oiks out of shot, this just leads to the bubble being burst for us watching at home, it feels fake.

I don't have a solution for all of this, hell thats what people get paid the big money for at the BBC, I just think something needs to happen before Top Gears heritage gets tarnished by talented but tired people...
